Mode of Action
PILARSIGUR® EC is a selective systemic post-emergence herbicide developed for the effective control of annual grass weeds in wheat and barley.
The active ingredient pinoxaden is rapidly absorbed through the leaves and translocated to the growing points of susceptible weeds, where it inhibits the ACCase (Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase) enzyme. This interruption of fatty acid synthesis stops weed growth shortly after application, followed by chlorosis and plant death.
The cloquintocet-mexyl safener enhances crop tolerance by accelerating the metabolism of the herbicide in cereal plants without reducing its effectiveness against weeds.
